More local finds
CarrieM, JrJoeD and I went out hunting again yesterday and here is what we found:
A cased pair if Harrison Bros & Howson - "Cutlers to His Majesty" (I got this one correct Lee), a 13/16 Satinedge, A Genco Army/Navy, a Red Point 917 from Utica Knife and a Tonserial Gem from FA Clauberg. The EL & Co and the W&B were older finds but hit the buffers and hones this weekend.Last edited by Joed; 07-26-2010 at 01:21 AM.

Thanked: 530Joe, seriously... Stop finding all the nice stuff! Even if you're a few states away, it still makes me feel lousy!
Loving that Wade and Butcher, Congrats

I don't care much about the others, but that pair is sweet!
I guess I know what I'll dig out to shave with tomorrow

Joe and Carrie, you must have found a leprechaun's hoard of razors under a rainbow somewhere! Seriously, I think you must have a network of spotters that direct you to these finds, worthy of a spy agency. I looked for a long time at the bottom left razor with the beautiful blade etch and wonderfully shaped blade. What is stamped on the tang? Thanks for sharing the pics of your wonderful discoveries.

My jealousy for your family finds builds greatly as I continue to involve with this forum and talk to you personally. I wish we had finds to be found in my area, but sadly the reality is fortuitous for you and not for me.

I do wish you and all good fortune in locating local razors. I was conversing with a previous supervisor once about the results of a prototype I built. I mentioned that I was lucky in being able to get it to work. He stated that luck is when something only happens occasionally and that my track record pointed more to skill.
We, CarrieM, Jr and I, do put a lot of thought into when and where we go hunting. Sometimes we find some nice razors and sometimes we don't. If you trust in luck more often than not you will be disappointed.“If you always do what you always did, you will always get what you always got.” (A. Einstein)
