    Default Charlie Lewis

Well, a bit of a backstory

I had been bugging Charlie for his Frameback 2 razors since he made one for himself. At least once every few months I asked if he was going to produce them. Then, low and behold he decides to start production. Im stealing the pics from his thread, but this is the blade I picked up. Cant wait to shave with it tomorrow. Nice packaging as well (dont have a pic of that)

Im not doing a review on this yet, but the steel really does feel organic. It just seems to "form" to the hand especially at the thumb notch. I dont know how to describe it but its a warm feeling.

That's a nice looking razor--blade and all. Congratulations.

So I was able to shave today with the blade. Very smooth shave. No irritation whatsoever. The only complaint I had was stropping. This this is pretty difficult to strop. There really isnt anything to hold onto and its a bit hard to make the turns with the thumbnotch. Ill get use to it though

I am normally not a big fan of framebacks, but I have to say that this is a true beauty. When closed, this razor seems to scream; open me, put me to use

You are quite right about the stropping thing. My customs took some practice to strop properly as well. They can really mess a strop up, if not done the right way. And a big smile like that..
Congrats on your new razor! I bet it will serve you well!

Isaac, it's a beautiful razor. If you're having too much difficulty getting used to stropping it, you can always send it out to me and I'll make sure it gets well stropped for frequent use!

I have a similar Lewis (not a frame back but very similar in the that the thumb notch makes for interesting stropping).

I have shaved with it about ten times now and stropping it is no issue any more!

I too have had to find the sweet spot to hold the razor when stropping. The squared off ends of the scales at the pivot and the thumb notch took some getting used to. Truth be told I modified the ends of the scales with a pair of end cutters and a file. Great shaver though AFAIC and I do love thumb notches so it is worth the effort to work at finding the grip for efficient stropping.
