Thanked: 0Ne razors.
hi there!
Today i got my new razors.
Paid 70 euro for three of them;
-a Kraut & Dohnal, really nice razor with a wooden scale. just the right weight. And has a blade that is in top condition. Little rubbing here and there and it will be good as new.
-a Joseph Rodgers & sons, The blade is nice but i think the scales aren't the original ones.
-And a Tuckmar, The blade is ****ed up beyond all repair.. The scales however are okay. Black ones with a little crown on top of it.
From the first two, there are attachet to this post. I hope. ;)
I hope i made a fair deal of this.
I'm looking forward to shave with Kraut & Dohnal. I dont know why but it really feels like al tool. There is one thing. The blade is of a size i never saw (3/8?) before. But i guess shaving with it isn't all that different from shaving with a 5/8?

What is wrong with the Tuckmar? If it's really that bad try to get your money back. The Rodgers seems like it was rescaled by Old Blades.
Will you be honing them yourself?

Thanked: 0Yes i will try. Tomorrow i will post a pic of the Tuckmar, Its like its honed into a tip? Does that make any sense.
I can get it sharp i guess.. But i don't think its worth it. You really think i should get my money back from the guy? I paid 70 euro's for all three. That was too much?

It does make sense. I assume it's like the Heljestrand he's selling, that one is frowned and the toe of the edge is going up. He could argue you could have seen it in the pictures. He has more razors for sale so you could also offer a swap. However if you want to go that way make sure you ask for pictures of the backsides. I saw a few of his razors and several backsides were pitted, also a couple of his razors have chipped edges.
If you like narrow razors these two are already worth the money you paid.
