I like the scales on that Wm Elliot. Those would be scarab scales. The Art Deco period took a momentary turn toward Egyptian styling after the discovery of the tomb of King Tut in 1923. That would date that razor from between about 1924 and 1929...

You guys are funny. For those of you that don't know, in referring to a mirror finish on metals it is a measurement of the surface roughness over the entire surface. In the machining world such ad Tool and Die Making or Mold Making it is measured with a surface roughness gauge. To us hobby straight razor people it is a highly reflective surface with out any defects in the finish. If the surface being referred to has any scratches, grit lines, stains, pit marks, rust, devil's spit or any other defect that is anywhere on the surface it is not a mirror finish. Duh...

If I'm not mistaken E.S. Hill and Co. in London used to sell your first unmarked Solingen razor. Not bad at all.
I love the smell of shaving cream in the morning!

Thanks Joed... I was trying to find a term to describe the shine of the surface under the minimal staining... Got any advice there? Not mirror-finished, but mirror-reflective?

    Cheers,
    Jeremy

I would recommend "Shiny, but blemished" coupled with better pictures. YMMV

So you are the person I was cursing hahaha. I was bidding on it also. Glad to see someone on here won it though.

I did get the 2 five razor lots that were going on at the same time as that one though. Got to wait till I get off work and get home to see what I really got.
