Thumbs up SCORE OF THE DAY,MAYBE YEAR !!!!!

Today I was walking through a flea market and saw a red coffin box marked WAM or something like that(I dont have it here with me) and looked inside-
ABoker King Cutter with Ivory celluloid handles.I got this for $20 and ran like a thief, this was absolutly perfect and after about fifty swipes with an Illinios strop, canves and leather,I cut a hair by dropping it on the blade!!!!
I have never seen this and it was amazing, this is as shave ready as anything could be,I cant wait to try it tomrrow as I had already shaved today.
I now know what to strive for when sharpining my other razors.Whoever owned this before me sure knew what he was doing.I tried to post a picture but it wouldnt let me ,I had the camera set on fine and it said it was too much info,Ill post it as soon as I can figure out how to,also the info I was able to obtain said by the tree it dates to about 1935-45.some of the gold etching is worn off, does anyone know if this can be replaced? And how?
    Thanks alot
    Griz

Sweet. I wish you could have uploaded a pic to complement that wonderful description. I hear that restoring the gold wash is possible but expensive to do as it is very delicate. I've learned first hand that it is easier to take gold wash off of a blade than it is to put it on. Ha!

I love reading stories like this...I have got to get myself down to the thrift and antique stores before they start getting wise to this kind of thing. Life is still good sometimes Kudos to you m8e !

I live in too small of a town to have flea markets. Reading stories like this makes me wish I lived somewhere a little bigger. Nice score!

Florida flea markets are the best IMHO because so many retiree's live down there.

That is also the downfall with Florida flea markets, all the retirees live there
