W&B Chopper
I picked this up a few days ago. I never realized how big these razors actually were. Can on actually shave with them? The blade and scales are actually very good shape. Needs a bit of cleaning is all, no rust or pitting. The cleaning marks are just from rubbing oil onto the blade so I think it will clean up nicely. I am pretty sure the scales are made of horn.

The blade width is no problem at all. I can even shave under my nose with an 8/8 blade. That sure is a meaty blade you found, though it's unfortunate the toe is missing. She should still shave just fine, though.

Those are horn scales, I'm sure. Should shine up really nice with some flitz or polishing compound. Too bad the notch and point are gone. Beautiful razor.

I knew it was not a perfect razor but when I saw the size of it, I bought it. I'll clean it up but probably never shave with it. It is very heavy compared to the smaller, thinner razors.

I too wondered about the ease of shaving with one of these brutes. My worries were in vain. I love shaving with this 9/8 monster:

Very little if any learning curve. They just make a fine shaver.
