Decisions, Decisions
Bob Allman
OCD Razors
Honduran Rosewood scales
Razor #1: 8/8" with smooth undulating spine work, French point
Razor #2: 8/8" with smaller regimented spine work, round point
These are 2 of Bob Allman's custom razors that I'm taking for a "test drive". I've shaved with them both and WOW!!!! Not only are they fantastic looking, they both deliver awesome shaves. As I said in my SOTD Sunday, they have the heft of 8/8' razors, but they have the most wonderful delicate edges.
I shaved with razor #1 on Friday; one day's beard growth. This sexy looking razor delivered an incredibly smooth shave. My son was across the room and commented that he could hear the singing of my whiskers being cut.
Sunday morning I shaved with razor #2; two day's beard growth. This razor made light work of the beard growth. I was presentable after my second pass, but went ahead and did my usually 3rd pass - not because I needed to but because I couldn't bring myself to put this baby down!
Now comes the hard part - deciding which one of these works of art to return to Bob. I'm leaning toward keeping #1 as I just love the spine work. Decisions, decisions....
Bob, I'm sorry my amateur photography doesn't do these two ladies justice. They are stunning works of art!

Thanked: 240You can't go wrong with either but I'm a sucker for the undulating spine work.... Hmmm if you want you could send them to me and being the kind person I am I'll choose for you. All you need to do is talk bob into letting me have the other. I think that's fair

Both are _very_ nice. I like the one with the long/curvy waves on the back (easier to keep clean aswell), but that´s my taste.

The undulating curvy spine work sets razor #1 apart. I'm definitely an amateur photographer and was fighting lighting issues. I was having trouble getting a picture that demonstrated that this razor is somewhat of a French point and the cool undulations on the spine extend down onto the toe of the razor - VERY COOL! This razor just feels right in the hand.
As I told Bob on the phone, I feel bad discussing pros & cons of these 2 beauties because it's really splitting hairs (pun intended). They're both phenomenal.
Heckler, I'm sure you could talk Bob into letting you test-drive the one I don't choose - just send him a PM. I guarantee you once you hold one of these beauties and put it to your face, you'll be hooked.

... and with a french point, those are da tits. In my book there´s nothing to choose between, lol. For me it wouldn´t be that hard though, even if they both are, well, high end super razors.

Thank you for the kind offer and I'm sure Bob is the gentlemen that you describe, but I was joking. I am sure if I ever did hold one I would have to have it, which being 23 paying down loans rent etc. is not in the budget. But if I did try one I would have to start collecting custom razors which would lead me down a path of robbing banks and holding up liquor stores. I would soon be caught and inprisioned. In peision I would be forced to shave with a cheap plastic bic disposable which would lead either to me going insane or my suicide. So no I shall avoid seeing one in person until I have the funds to purchase some really nice ones.
