    Thumbs up A NEW SCORE

    Folks,
you may not believe it but my wife bought this for me at a flea market for 35 bucks,I know its a Henckels, but what is this blade shape called?
I used my Norton 8000,and a Carborundum pasted canvas strop before using the leather, and I have reached shaving nirvana,It didn't even feel like this was touching my face. I don't say this lightly,as Ive been using a straight for at least 30 years,on and off,but Ive just begun honing my own razor and I have never had a shave like this,no wonder there still in business,my favorite razor at this moment!!! just wonderful. Anyway, does this have a particular name?
    Thanks
    Griz
    P.S.
Yes it does have a pyramid on the tang-is that a good thing?

Ummm. Could you show a close up of the tang? The logo appears to have a Geneva Pyramid logo.

The style of the blade is a French point with double shoulders. I'm also a fan of the French point but I prefer a shoulderless design like this.

    Henckels are a quality blade.

It is an oblique point, also called a French point.

I've seen points like that called French, Irish, or oblique. Nice thumbnotch on the tang too.

I agree with Utopian; that looks like the Geneva pyramid on the tang. I've never seen a Geneva that looked like that.

It's not good or bad; it's just not a Henckels. It's a Geneva Cutlery.

Is that a Geneva cutlery? I've heard they're great shavers, but they're usually boring looking, so I've never picked one up. That one is beautiful!

If so, then perhaps. My pyramid is a great shaver. I've not seen one with a thumbnotch though.
