Thanked: 12Le Grelot inspired TI
I received my Le Grelot inspired TI from Martin at rasurpur today. It is an extremely beautiful blade and I really like the dark horn scales. They are not as dark as in the photo and are more brown than black.
I had a shave with it and it was a very nice and pleasant shave. The only other 1/2 hollow I have is a Wapi and it shaves similar to a wapi, smooth and effortless and a very quiet shave. It has a lot more heft than a Wapi though and the grip due to the thicker tang and thumbnotch with jimps
It didn't feel as silky smooth as my Le Grelot's but then again there are few I have tried that do.
The blade's cutting edge is about half an inch shorter than the normal Le Grelot, but I actually like this feature, makes it easier to maneuver around my face.
Anyway, this one is definately a keeper and I'm glad I bought it, it gives a nice contrast to all the full hollows I have.

Yes it seems my RAD is slowing down but now my tastes are a lot more expensive. When I started with straight razors I couldn't imagine spending $300 on a razor but now it doesn't seem crazy to me especially for a nice TI.
Still think that the singing hollow blades provide a smoother and closer feeling shave but my technique has to adapt to this new razor still.

Very nice razor - I was thinking about picking up one of the Le Grelots from Martin as well. But I'm going crazy with razor purchases lately - gonna wait for a bit. Hope he still has a stock of 'em in a few months.

I think you won't have any problem picking up a Le Grelot there are other vendors that have them now too, but with fancier scales.
I picked up a Dos Festonné from Steve at TI UK and this is the new model with a straight tang and 6/8ths blade size all the way across, not 6/8 to 7/8ths like the old model. Steve said these are the last ones to be made with historical steel after these ones are gone its the new carbonsong steel.
I picked up one of this one because the exchange rate is good now for Canadian to GBP and there won't be many of these available.
