6/8 Wosty IXL
I won this 6/8 Wosty IXL on Ebay back in mid-September. I thought she looked a little rough but had potential. I finally sent it off to Ernie Aldrete last week to get fixed up. I really like the embossed scales with some of the gold still in them. Here's a couple of "before" pics and 3 "after." She's on her way to get honed--I can't wait to take her for a spin around the face!

Me, too! Early this past summer, I bought my first Wosty, a 6/8 pipe, from Dylan (holli4pirating). At the time, I had a couple of 5/8s and one other 6/8, a Dovo Special. I was amazed at what a hefty chunk of steel that Wosty is, but also at what a creamy shave she delivers. So when I saw this one on Ebay, I knew I couldn't let her get away. Plus I really like the older blades, and those scales really capped it off.
If you like Ernie's work, he's Nerdman on Badger & Blade. I found out about him through Larry Andro's WhippedDog site."If you ever get the pipes in good chune, your troubles have just begun."--Seamus Ennis

Congratulations. That's one heck of a looker too . I bet you'll love the way they shave. Who's honing it up for you?
I have two Wostys that are with Max (IXL and Pipe) getting a makeover.

Thanks, Robert! Larry Andro's doing the honing--I bought a really sweet 5/8 etched Geneva from him a few months ago and really liked the edge he put on her.
I need to get a pic of the Geneva up here. The etch is of a cowboy roping a steer--and the blacking is almost 100% intact."If you ever get the pipes in good chune, your troubles have just begun."--Seamus Ennis

Geo. Wostenholm & Sons made nothing but fine razors, especially the larger ones. You can expect a very smooth, sharp and long lasting edge from a well honed Wostenholm. Nice looking, too! Congratulations.
