    Default The New Guy

Hey all, here is my set up. I bought the black 5/8 Best Quality but they sent me Blondie instead, I read that is a common occurrence. I was hesitant at first to spend much money but now I know i'm hooked so I am already looking at my next purchase. I am looking for a deep red wood style handle so any suggestions would be great.

    Thanks

Very cool, sleek, modern looking setup. The Dovo Best will serve you right for a while. I since sold mine to fund other purchases, but looking back, it actually gave an excellent shave.

I would hold off on buying any other razors until you learn to strop and proper technique. You may roll an edge or mess up the blade and you don't want to do that with an expensive, pretty razor. That's just my opinion though....if you don't feel like taking it, check out the Thiers Issard Le Grelots that come in a variety of scales.

You are right about buying another straight, I should wait. I guess it’s like any new exciting hobby; you can really spend some money. I was thinking of changing the handle though, maybe that will add some character.

    Thanks again for your thoughts.

    Thumbs up

Sorry for the late post here, but really nice setup you got there . Very sleek and modern. I like it. That Dovo is a great shaver and should serve you well for some time.

once you get the hang of using it, you can add more razors to your rotation/collection. It will give you a feel for different grinds, size and steel feel. Let the fun begin

mclovin, you have a clean setup! where'd you score the brush/SR holder??? i'm definitely in need of one of those and i like the brushed silver look vs chrome.

Thanks! The brush was bought off Amazon beleive it or not by a company I dont remember but they don't specialize in shaving goods. Type in E Shaving Brush and you will find one. The stand was bought from Royal Shave, it was a little steep but Its well built and I like it.

    Thanks everyone!
