    Default "THE REAL" DEAL

Found this interesting razor at a local Antique shop. Its a straight safety razor. Its called "THE REAL" safety razor. It has a detachable guard that opens and swivels for right and left handers.I honed her up and gave her a whirl without the guard and I was amazed on a great shave she gave.It is easy to handle without the scales getting in the way around my porkchops.Im saving the guard as it is original.I cannot find and info on it or where it was made.Has anyone evere seen or heard of one of these? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I know Korn made one like that, but I don't think I've seen any others. I'm pretty sure the Korn one says Korn on it, but I do believe "The Real" was one of their common markings.

thanks for the bit of info Mr.Pirate.Ill try punching in Korn and see what happens.I think its a real interesting razor.Got to get used to it around my knuckles.I barely slid it across my knuckle on my middle finger during a rinse and it bit me.

Very cool. Shumate also made a razor with a removable guard but it was a folder. Interesting that an American company was making a Kamasori style straight razor way back when.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

    Thumbs up

What a score . Nice. I really like the modular aspect of this blade.
