Thread: Now THIS is a razor box..

been redoing the bathroom and this is the new vanity. the shelf will be plate glass and i'm going to build a tray for the bottom which will be felt lined and so on to hold razors. i disassembled a piano recently and used some of the pieces for this. i had to steam the veneer off some of the wood and then i used it to veneer the doors. first time i ever veneered and i thought i did ok. the back is a piece of the soundboard. any of the screws in this piece also came from the piano. i left the original oxidized finish on the pillars on the sides, but the veneer on the doors i scraped with a utility blade knife and then washed with formby's refinisher. then i hit it with linseed oil and then shellac.
