Default Will & Finck Seldom Seen San Fran Cal

My first purchase of 2011, yesterday, off a fixed priced online source. I really like the beefy brown horn scales. I imagine this will be a great shaver!

Both the blade and scales look stoutly made; I think it will shave well too. That horn would shine after a good polish.

Nice find. I remember reading an article on Will & Finck years ago. Might have been in Knife World or something similar. They were a high end cutlery outfit in San Francisco in the 1800s - 1900s. Their bowie knives are particularly sought after by collectors IIRC.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Congrats on the first buy of the year. I haven't made mine yet.

Tough to tell in the photos, but I think the scales may be oxidized vultanite/bakelite. You'll know when you get her, though. Here's hoping horn.
