Ross W. Black - Pittsburgh
I picked this up at an antique store for $6, I really liked the blade's size and shape and it was in fairly good condition. I'm not sure what material the scales are but they seem like horn or bone; Unfortunately someone carved an H into them and they're a little brittle.
Has anyone ever heard of Ross W. Black? If anyone has it, I'd love some info. Seems like it might be 100% Pittsburgh steel as it has no indications of Germany, etc. and the one side of the tang just has a keystone.

Thanked: 65Pittsburg razor
could that be Russ and not Ross. GOINS" has that name listed and guesses 1900-1930. He said "Volunteer" was one of the marks. Of course, I am sure you know, that thousands of local barbers and barber supply houses had razors made with their names stamped.

I'm almost positive it's Ross and not Russ. VIA Google I was able to find an auction that ended a few days ago (Vintage Ross W Black Companion Straight Razor Germany - eBay (item 110633382589 end time Jan-14-11 19:34:59 PST))
This one says Germany on it and the branding is also Ross W. Black. It may not be a custom stamp but I may never be sure what the hell this thing is. You've got me thinking though, Red.
