Default First razor purchase - Clover

Well I'm a newb here and have been looking online for about 2 weeks now and finally picked up a str8.....I figured my first one should be a clover as everyone needs a little luck right? $12 for my first one....so that isn't too bad! This will be my first restore so I have tons of info to look up...but I'm so excited I had to share! My next one will be a shaveable razor as I don't want to ruin something I want to restore and use later when my skillz are up to par!

Nice find. I have 2 Morley & sons, both are excellent shavers. Clean it up and use it, I'm sure you'll be happy with the results. Both of mine are easy to hone/maintain, and give very smooth comfortable shaves.

    Cool

+1 the Clover's from Morely are excellent shavers...

You need to watch when you hone that one up it has a bit of uneven wear at the toe.

If you look in the Wiki under honing and read the excepts from the Barbers Manual in there it will have a honing pattern that is designed to create a slight smile when honing... By using that info you can gradually turn the blade back right...

If JimmyHAD finds this post I know he has that page saved and linked so he might link it to you also...

    Thumbs up

Nice score . I am sure that once polished a bit and cleaned up, she will be a fabulous shaver in your collection.

BTW: Welcome to SRP and the world of straight shaving

A Morley Clover Brand was my first razor too. Takes a nice edge. One of my best shavers. Congrats.
