Thanked: 3My "Favorite" Straight Razor
I've had this for a couple years now and just got around to getting an account setup here.
My first (Ebay) razor Harrison Bros and Howson with horn handles.
It is stamped V(crown)R Cutlers to her Majesty which puts it anywhere from about 1870-1920 from what I can tell. I haven't wanted to do too much to this one, I have a couple I rescaled and cleaned up that I'll post when I get a chance. Has anyone honed one of these before?

Welcome to SRP and that's one nice razor you got there
Can't tell whether that's hone wear, but I think she should hone up nice (you may have to watch and make sure that blade sits flat on hone though)

Hi,
And welcome to the forum. You have a nice razor there. Should turn out to be a nice shaver.
How come i guess that your username is a bit, eh, if not strictly from Kalevala, then at least very Finnish?
Enjoy the forum. This is a great place.'That is what i do. I drink and i know things'

Nice looking razor! The gunstock scales look like horn to me, and there is uneven hone wear which can probably (or already has been) corrected. I would guess that it could not have been manufactured after 1901, per the following entry from Goins', if it is also marked "45 Norfolk St." There are other and later entries for Harrison Bros., but none that also say "Cutlers to Her Majesty".
HARRISON BROS. & HOWSON CUTLERS TO HER MAJESTY 45 NORFOLK ST. c.1847-1901.
