Thanked: 190Awesome Father/Son moment
My little man wanted a mohawk haircut and he got resistence from his mom about getting one. So when she was out of the house for half the day, he got out the clippers, jumped into the chair, and told me to get to work. I gave him a nice low profile mohawk cut that he will enjoy for the next several weeks.
It was time to shave the neck and he asked if I could use my straight razor like the good barbers do. I said, "yes sir", then I asked what he thought of it when I finished? He thought it was cool like his haircut and asked if I would teach him how to shave with it when he was older.
I was so peached that he asked that question! It was a great Father/Son moment.
Life is great when the kids think their Dad is cool!

That is very cool.
My 19 year old is asking me to give him straight razor shaves regularly when he comes home during breaks.Last edited by Bayamontate; 02-28-2011 at 08:30 PM.

Thanked: 3795How about the rest of the story?
Just how much hell did you catch from your wife for the mohawk?

How about a photo?
I hope your wife didn't get too upset. My wife is a beautician and was willing to dye our girl's hair every color of the rainbow. Her comment was always, "It's hair, it will grow out." But she always wanted to do the work herself to be certain good products were used, products that wouldn't damage the hair. Our girls are grown now and are beautiful young women - not more fadish hair. They got it out of the system when they were young.

Awesome story. Thanks for sharing. I hope you're wife wasn't too upset...or that you were nice and built your dog a good house!

This is an awesome story. But I wonder how much "time out" you got when the boss got back!

Thanked: 190The Mrs. walked in and saw her son smiling and so happy, so I got a pass on this one.
But I had to face the music from her friends
and the Son's wrestling buddies all high fived him over it and fired him up for the
regional tournment, so in the end, it was a winner.
Photo to come after it gets touched up this week-end.

Hello, Pabster:
That is a warm and touching story and a good illustration of bonding with one's son. Good show.

Very very cool, Pabster
There's almost nothing that thrills me more than fathers connecting that way w/ their kids.
May those moments be many. The payoffs last a lifetime.
