Default Weiss & Son 62 Strand Cased Pair

I blame my current passion with paired razors on Mike King, a Canadian straight razor collector and ebay seller (luvshavin) who I have purchased some straight razors from. He is a very nice guy and although primarily a collector and not a daily user of the open blade, he shares our enthusiasm for their beauty. I blame Mike because he is the Gent that I purchased my 50th Birthday present to myself to celebrate half a century! Those are the R. LeMarchand Paris Frameback paired set.... He mentioned in his eBay auction that they would be..."perfect for the guy who collects pairs..."

Oh my goodness! Why did he lay that little morsel on my noggin??? I have since searched out several pairs and sets in general to include exhaustive key word searches in various combinations on search engines that have uncovered some great fixed priced pairs that I placed in my growing collection.

Today, arriving just prior to 11 am was this beautiful paired set; a Weiss & Son 62 Strand cased. I wrote a lengthy post on Weiss in relation to my yet to arrive London Bridge 1176 Pair. I purchased the following pictured set on eBay very early this month. Missing one small section on the end of a very nicely crafted wooden box appears to be one of only a few minor flaws. The ivory scales of each razor have those typical hairline cracks at pins... However, beefy lead spacer wedges, very hefty shoulderless forged blades with deep tang stamps and decorated spines of "1" & "2". I think they are very well made by the noted surgical instruments maker. If you have the opportunity to purchase a Weiss, I believe you will be pleased.

    Beautiful pair. They look unused.
I strop my razor with my eyes closed.
