F.A. Koch in Faux Tortoise
This is my latest RAD razor, I wasn't sure about the scales till it got here today. Turns out they are like in mint condition, and polished out to really look outstanding, JMO though. The blade itself was in pretty good shape also, just a light sanding with 600 wet, and a little polishing with mothers. Now I can hone her up and see if there are any secrets behind this Blue Steel theory
Lil bit of razor porn guys, I know I love to see it !
BTW if I'm wrong about the scales being Faux Tortoise , just slap me and send me in the right direction !
Thanks Mark

Beautiful old razor!
Is this one related to T.A Koch in Chicago?
What is the round about age of your razor?

THEO A. KOCH
659 Wells St., Chicago Illinois
Trademark: "Pleezall"
ca. 1913 - 1917
Friedrich Koch, Solingen in 1922. Open-blade razor maker.
My guess mines 1922, and the T.A. Koch is older, Friderich is probably the son, or a brother. I think the scales on this one are awesome myself. Just honed it up tonight and the blade came out very nice, nice even bevel and super sharp !! will give her the real test in the morning, Thanks for checkin it out !
Oh and here's another Koch, I'm pretty sure they are all related
G. Koch, Solingen in 1925. Open-blade razor maker.
Koch & Schäfer, Solingen in 1925 and 1928. Open-blade razor maker.

Thank you, Mark.
Max does good work.
I'm on my 2nd week of shaving.
If you would have asked me 1 month ago, that I would look forward to shaving each day, I would have called the boys in the white van and white hospital uniforms to take you away.
I spend my free time reading on this topic and hunting soaps and colognes during the day.
It's a hard life.
