    Default My first SR score

Hit an antique flea market and found these in a shoe box full of all sorts of str8 razors. Some were just scales, some were just blades, some were missing half the blades, but I rescued these for $12.50 each. Not sure, but I felt it was a good deal. Now to get them restored, or at least shave ready. There is a Dubl Duck "Pearl Duck", W&B "Sheffield", H.Boker "King Cutter".

You most certainly did more than good.
    You did great!
All those brands are highly coveted and regarded as superb shavers!
    Very nice score.

Congrats, those are all great brands. They will be great shavers after a workover. Dang, why can't I stumble upon shoeboxes full of straight razors

We must be living in the wrong city buddy!
I can't seem to find Jack on the local flea-markets and antiques stores around here!

I find Jack around here and he's got razors priced like they are made of gold.

    Nice score, chief.

Thank goodness for internet shopping. I have never come across a single one anywhere in Norway. Funny, seems it must have been a bearded community here in yesteryears. That, or they were so manly they just burnt it off with hot coals. Or, and this is what I'm ever hoping - there really must be "shoeboxes filled with straight razors" somewhere. Now just where to find them..

Funny thing about the guy I bought them from was I would never have suspected that he would have these. He had an old beat up panel van as his booth and blankets spread all around with old WWII helmets, home made walking sticks, old padlocks and several swords and old military knives. I began talking with him as I strolled through the stuff and just happened to mention the fact that I was looking to find some straight razors. He told me to hang on, turned and dug around in his van and sat this box on one of the boxes on the ground. I started rummaging through and holy smokes! I remember telling my son that I was going to the antique flea market and he said, "Dad, if you don't see razors, ASK!" lol
