Thanked: 0My first Razor.
I was bought this razor by my mum,
she found it at a car boot sale and got it for a whopping 50 pence.
Its still in what I think is its original box, the blade looks very clean with some slight scratchs on one side.
it has 'German hollow ground' pressed on one side and 'KONEX' on the other side.
Any idea what or where its from?
would it be worth restoring and having honed?

Nice score!
I dont think it needs restoring, it looks to be in pretty good shape, all you really need to do is hone it. From the 50p comment I assume you are in the UK? I'm happy to hone her up for the cost of postage if you're interested? Just drop me a PM!
I'm not sure about the make, I've not heard of it before. "German hollow ground" doesnt necessarily mean its a German blade, I think that refers more to the hollow grinding. Hopefully one of the other guys will chime in to let us know.
Looks like a good blade though, and is in good condition. Once she's honed up she should serve you very well!

Nice!
I like the jimps on top and bottom and the sweep in the thumb area. Looks like it would be very comfortable in the hand. It looks like it was put away sharp and clean. I'll bet it wouldn't take much to hone it up. The patina on blades like that just give them charactor IMO.

Thanked: 0Thanks for the replies.
Yeah I'm in Lowestoft.
Stubear that would be fantastic if you could hone it for me
I'd be able to have a proper shave ^^
I do have another razor I found in a junk shop, which I'll post info about, and see which would be better to use.
Thanks for the info
