Default Antique market finds, old spice mug, vintage shaving ad and some other stuff

So I went to a huge antique market about an hour from where I live. It has over 200 small shops in it so I managed to pick up some shaving stuff. The first is a small wooden bowl with an inlayed top. I ended up using it to melt some pirates cove lime soap into. I like the way it turned out. The second is a vintage old spice mug and a canadian nylon brush. I was really happy with this find as I've been green with jealousy at all the old spice mugs I've seen in the SOTD's. I threw an old puck of Williams into it just for fun. The last is an old advertisement for an electric razor I got for 4 bucks. It'll eventually be framed and adorn the shave den .

Congrats. Looks like you made out pretty well. How many shops did you have to hit to get your haul?

Great finds! But, you do realize that you could save time and look on ebay for that stuff? There are some great old razor ads and Old Spice mugs a plenty.... You have the glass Old Spice mug there. I have one also, the one I want next is the ceramic (or is it stone ware?) one...That is the older version..not as pretty to some, but it looks cool to me.... Are you restoring your brush? Goldennib.com has some great knots for reasonable prices.

Half the problem with looking for them on Ebay as a Canadian is the shipping prices are pretty extreme. While the mug itself can be had for $5 - $20, the shipping is generally $15 - $30 on top of that, if it's coming from the USA which most of them seem to.

We have an "antique row" here in Portland and it's usually a good 3+ hour trip when I go down. Sadly I think there's only 8 or 9 in that location. I figure it's a tolerable way to spend quality time with my mother and I generally find something shave related to bring home. Kind of like killing 2 birds with 1 stone so to say

Yeah I agree, eBay may be easier but this way I get to make a day trip out of it and spend some time with my girlfriend
