    Default Mappin Brothers Knife/Cutter

Can I admit being mystified by this Mappin Brothers knife or cutter? Obviously, it was intended for cutting. The size of the handle relative to the blade, and the shape of the handle, indicates to me that a high level of control over cutting action is intended.

Does anyone know more about this knife?Name: SAM_0377.jpg

It looks like a hand engraving tool.

Maybe it is for engraving and cutting, as the blade length (1", 25mm) seems to indicate a cutting function also.
