Joesph Rodgers Pair
So last weekend i had to spend saturday at the inlaws for a b-day party for a 4 year old. So when the kids when to the Movies to see Winne the Pooh. My brother inlaw and myself hit up the local antique mall.
Picked up this pair for $35. Blades had lots of chips but nothing i couldnt fix in a half hour.
Ivory Tangs are cracked. Scum on the blade but no pitting. Should clean up nicely.

I thought the case was cool so i bought them. As for the scales i guess ill just have to put on the ivory coloured scales. the ivory on the tang is only cracked so ill glue them up.

Thanked: 6I picked up a pair just like this (but with the ivory scales) from an antique shop in Mexico City. They appeared to be unused and indeed I was able to shave with them right out of the box. They are extraordinary shavers, brushing aside stubble in a smooth stately fashion like a couple of Rolls Royces. This particular Joseph Rodgers model is the equal of any razor every made, yet it doesn't seem to fetch anywhere near the prices that the W&B's, Fillies and other over-hyped marks do. Why can't they make razors like these anymore?
