Default Another nice day was had.

For a change, I found hones at local garage/estate sales. Within 5 miles of home i got lucky! Total cost $25. Took a few minutes to lap them before photos Coticule, 2line Swaty, Thuringian.

I love these stories and pictures! Congratulations-all 3 hones look ready for duty. Excellent photos. Would love to hear what kind of edge the coticule puts on your razors-it looks like a good one; I have one similar with lots of manganese lines that puts a really superb finish on my edges, better than any of the other coticules in my hone drawer, which are all larger.

Thanks folks! I have found that having a strong idea, over time, of what you want will somehow swing the universe over to your side. Getting to know shop keepers, and taking time to smooze with garage sale folks will sometimes ring up a winner. In this case I went to an estate/garage/house sale and talked with the owner. His grand folks were downsizing. So he led me through two houses, a backyard shed and a couple basements. Bingo, A razor and the Thuringian. He told me that a dealer had gotten some stuff. So I went to that dealer's /garage sale/home sale and found the other two hones. I have found things where there had been none the week before and known of others finding things at a place where I had just struck out at the week before.
