Thanked: 3Dovo Forestal...my forst new razor
Well, about a month in with straights and getting really nice irritation free shaves (usually lol) so I decided to spring for a new one for my birthday. I Called SRD and spoke with Don before settling on the Dovo Forestal and a 3" latigo strop. They arrived today and it is all I can do to wait till the morning to shave!!!

That is a nice looking razor. Be careful with that puppy, Lynn puts an awfully sharp edge on them. I sent some razors to him and they all came back extremely sharp.

Thanked: 3I like that razor quite a lot. I keep my eye on the similar DOVO 'Flowing' they have.

Thanked: 0Thanks!
Thanks for posting these nice images of this very nice looking razor! I am also interested in this particular one.
I'm planning to start shaving with a straight razor. Every forum I read on this subject, people always tell you to begin with a cheap razor. Seeing that a 'cheap' razor will also cost you about $60, who not just start off with something like the Forestal for instance (a design I really like)?! I'm determined to make this traditional shaving work for me anyway... Anyone any wise arguments why I shouldn't ignore this advise?

My dad always said if you want to be a rich man ask a rich man for advise on how he did it. Makes since to me, thats why you and I are here, right?.
If you keep getting the same advise then there must be some truth to it.
