    Default Geison and Forstoff reposted

I recently posted about two new vintage straight razors I acquired. The pictures however, sucked. I apologize for those. Here are new pictures, not perfect but much better. I'm still working on that photographing stuff.
I was very happy to find those two razors. One was a Gieson and Forsthoff Adoration Ax 295 and the other was a "contract" razor made for the Missouri Barber Supply Co. There is no stamp for country of origin on the second one so I assume it was made in this country.
Both are in wonderful condition. No chips or cracks in the blades or the scales. Very little rust or pitting on the blades.
I do enjoy the feedback I get here good and bad so let me have it. I paid 58 dollars for the two of them. Not the best deal in town but I don't think it was terrible.

From the pictures that looks like an Adoration, rather than an Adoration Ax. I have the second one and mine was made in the USA by Case, strangely enough. If my memory serves me, the AX is more wedgy without stabilizer(s) and the Adoration is hollower. Just my two cents.

I appreciate the two cents. Yes it is an adoration but this one is made by Gieson and Forsthoff. What can you tell me about the age of the razor and something else, what do those numbers stamped on the tangs mean?

Yes, aside from the one I own, all of the Adorations and Adoration Axes I've remembered seeing have been G&Fs. Mine looks much like a red imp wedge and yours looks like the hollower red imp, so maybe the two companies did a little shipping and rebranding...I know I've seen imps made by a number of different makers, those two included, along with Morris IIRC.

I'd love to find another one like mine though, its one of my favorites!

As far as the age and the numbers, I have absolutely no idea. Hopefully someone will chime in and help you out. Best of luck!
