Default Arrived today! J.M.Smith & MAB..

Came home today to find a very well wrapped up package from my fleabay induced attack of RAD.
Got it open (finally) and inspected its contents.

This Smith is a lot narrower than my other one and am quite pleased at the scales being ivory (or imitation plastic to be PC lol). It has a similar feel and dimensions to my Klas Tornblom.

I was surprised to find how small the MAB was - it's dinky in comparison to a full size razor for e.g. #14 Filly..

    Default ..continued.

Anyhoo, the first thing I did was sort out the chips on the blades, I didn't notice them on the original fleabay add as the pics were on the smallish side and lowish res.

So I bradknifed them both on the coarse side of a carborundum stone I use to sharpen my kitchen knives and also reshaped the tip of the Smith as it was chipped also.

    Looking a bit better.

Due to the spine-wear and the breadknifing I've decided to tape them up before honing. Once I get the bevel set I'll start on getting them honed up.

Nice bit of slurry going on there, lovely colour on the BBW side of my coti.

Jeez that blade is small! Going to have fun using that one I think lol.

So now all I have to do is spend a bit of time getting them shave ready and enjoying a couple more in my rotation. It's nice to have a razor or two from your home town.
