    Default CV. Heljestrand Razor

Hi everyone! I got this razor in the mail today, i bought it for about 40 USD. I have one problem though. I dont know if i have put it together in the right way, i cant seem to figure out what this end piece is supposed to do and where to be :S. Ive tried to put it together the only way i can figure out but still im having second thoughts about it. Thanks for any advice

Are you sure it's a razor? It looks more like a music stand to me.

I'm pretty sure that the piece with the holes in it is a blade holder; it's used to hold a blade for honing and stropping.

Thank you for the answer and i kind of realized that it was a blade holder when i tried to hone them by hand. Then i looked at it and put one and one toghter. Ill post a pic of it as a "straight razor" or "blade holder" as soon as i get some time for it

A Heljestrand Lather Catcher, Wow, didn't know there was such a thing. I have a lather catcher with a similar blade holder that plugs into the bottom of the handle. The idea is detach the head of the razor from the handle, plug the blade holder into the hollow spot on the bottom of the handle, install a SE blade in the blade holder and strop it as you would a straight. Sweet score and a beautiful razor by the way.
The older I get, the better I was
