    Default Wostenholm

I picked up this wostenholm and sons razor, and is has an interesting shape...i can't seem to see others like this? is due to excessive wear on the heal over the years? although there doesn't seem to be much wear at the spine..also when i put it down flat as if to hone the heal lifts on one side and not the other? I look forward to cleaning it up..Name: 2011-10-12 23.17.20.jpg

I've seen this profile in Wade and Butcher "Barbers Use" blades and have one very much like yours. I think that is probably the original shape.

thanks thats reassuring to know as i was worried it had seen alot of use, but if thats the original shape I am pleased, the wedge seems straighter on one side than the other which seems odd?

The W&B I have is a 19/16 but not a problem shaving with it at all. Just don't drop it in the shower.

I have what I think is the same blade although mine does not have the wosty pipe, it does have the asymetrical grind that you are talking about and the toe heavy shape. I can't remember but I believe it is also a wosty just no pipe only text on the tang. If I remember I'll try to take a pic when I get home

Yes please that would be great to see,
there was some text on the face of the blade which has all gone, i can just make out 'olm & Sons' with Sheffield underneath.. make after cleaning this will show up some more..

That's a fine razor you have there and the shape is original. I have a Joseph Rodgers & Sons that is quite similar.
