Default W H Morley - my first straight razor

It's been a long time coming
I had camera issues with my phone
    Ended up getting another one

At last I can post pics of my first straight razor
One that I can actually shave with

A nice restored W H Morley & Sons in 6/8" full hollow grind
Nicely restored and sold to me by hi-bud-gl (Sham)
Here's hoping I get it right

Smile you wouldn't be a coffee drinker would you?

Nice work Rick! A beautiful straight and don't worry about the quality of the photographs; that gets better with practice.

    Nice one, Rick.
I'm working on a Morley now - can't wait to see how it shaves - we'll have to compare.
Nothing wrong with those photo's either, but isn't that coffee cup a bit small....hehehe?
    Very nice.
Hang on and enjoy the ride...

    Thanks nipper
It's a great shaver and really holds an edge
In about 6 weeks of daily shaving with a str8
It's only needed stropping to stay sharp

    I highly recommend Shams workmanship
to anyone looking for a good str8 razor

Congrats on your first straight razor. She's a beauty.

I have a Morley in my razor collection and she's a sweet shaver.

BTW...Don't worry about getting it right when going for your first shave with her. You'll do just fine.

Congrats! I love my Morley and I'm sure you will too for a long time.

    To Dewey

This one is sure to be a keeper
Especially as its my first real razor
I love the way it shaves and easy to handle too

Seriously thinking of trying a larger blade, up to 7/8
Would be great if it was as sweet a shaver as the Morley

    To jhenry

She is a sweet shaver mate
SO far I have used 3 razors in rotation for about 6 weeks
The keenness of the Morley is standard I aim for on edges
So far all is going well
Many thanks to all contributors for the videos on stropping and honing
It makes the journey a simpler one
Nothing like getting in and having a go

    Rick

Glad to have another Morley owner in the club! I would kill for a seven day set of Morley's to be honest. I have two that are headed to get honed as we speak. Another brand that I think comes close is Crown & Sword. I have one that I purchased that was finished that shave wonderfullly. The other I have is currently my first restore project over in the workshop.

Also feel free to post in the Morley club thread in the razor cllub section. Lots of fans over there.
