Antique show finds
5/8 Christians Solingen
11/16 Bartman Highclass
5/8 C-MON Deluxe
5/8 Genco Expert
Passed up tons of razors while I was at the show but still pretty happy with what I walked away with. Nothing against the other razors but I think I'm happiest about the Genco. I have a 9/16 Expert already that's one of my favorites so the 5/8 will make a decent companion when it's cleaned up and honed.
Ran into Rob (pinlather) while I was there. He made out pretty well himself. I'm looking forward to the next show, see what I can walk away from that one with.
All the best,
Michael

Great looking finds; everyone I come accross needs a ton of work. Yours look shave ready, other than cleaning and a honing.

Super looking razors! How much did you get them for? That Bartmann is sweet!

Yup. For the most part they need just that. Along with a little tightening on the pins. I do have to take the C-mon apart. There might be a crack up at the pivot end of the scales I missed but otherwise basically ready to go. The only "issue" with the Bartman is a little of the goldwash is missing off the spine at the toe end.
Basically I spent less than $100 including what it cost to enter the show and buy a drink and snack. Could have picked up a ton of razors for restore projects but I already have a bunch that are sitting around waiting on me to get off my duff so I passed.

Very nice finds! I'm curious as to what the price range was for razors at the antique show?

Basically figure on $15 to a million. Well not really. The $15 starter is a good base line but some dealers think what they have is worth a fortune. Just like any other antique deal. The best part of the shows is that they are generally more willing to haggle so that they won't have to take as much back home, which is mutually beneficial to dealer and customer alike.
I could have spent a lot more at the show but I had to promise my self I'd only get "keepers" and only for prices I wouldn't regret later. I'd say I kept my promise. Now...if I get some of these other restores out of the way the next show might be a little different
