CL Razor
Got this off of CL yesterday. it was listed as a Wadsworth but it is not. Tang stamp is J. Podgers & Sons, it did come in a Wadsworth box. Definitely needs work, but not to much. I will clean it up and try to polish out the rust and straighten the scales. The problem is that after the purchase, I discovered a small dent at the heal on the cutting edge. Its very slight but noticeable to me. Not sure how it will hone like that.

I think it was stamped J, Rodgers & sons for Joseph Rodgers & Sons.
Any good? Is there any reason I should not rescale it?

Maybe my eyes are fried, but is it a microtome?
It looks like an easy clean-up and should shave well. I say rescale if you wish.

Thanked: 13245Not sure, but tossing my hat in the ring as a re-grind of a older Near-Wedge that is just a bit off in the grind dept...
Rodgers are known shavers, and with just a bit of work I bet you have more than enough talent to put that one right again...

deighaingeal, I thought a microtome had one straight grind, I have not handled enough razors to know.
I tried to steam the scales last night, the edge no longer wants to hit but they have a bunch of twist and are not very nice to look at because of that. I also got most of the dent out, so I will be able to hone.
Feel free to move this to the restoration forum if you like. (probably where I should have put it in the first place)
