5/8 Rodgers eBay score
I took a chance on a cheap buy it now for a 5/8 Rodgers and Sons with crappy photos and got lucky - turns out it's a cool little WR stubtail . I love the old school washers, and I think the number under the crown is for a set. Not sure yet, but I think I will unpin it and do a restore, but it's not bad for 174+ years. The scales are a nice translucent brown/cream horn with a few bug bites that can be filled. I just need to find another flower washer as the pivot end is missing one...

I have a tortoise one like that..Heavy son of a gun. Shaves okay...It was hard to get an edge on it. Once I got it on it shaved well. It was neat shaving with a piece of history.

IMHO, Rodgers are some of the best shaving vintage razors out there, I really like the Rodgers shave. After I tried the first one I wasn't happy until I got my hands on a few more, ended up with 5 so far, two are a matching set with Ivory scales.
The Rodgers are a bit hard to get a real good edge on but once its there, no worries.Last edited by DoughBoy68; 12-13-2011 at 08:06 PM.
