    Default Christmas pictures

Someone really loves me... got a sweet (oldy moldy to some) Acier Fondu for Christmas. The blade is in great shape with only black oxidation and the pins are tight. Can't wait to hone it. I started taking pictures with the nice camera and got carried away with the artsy, so thought I'd share the other razors as well.

Next up is the Rodgers stubby I've been working on restoring (before pics here http://straightrazorpalace.com/show-...bay-score.html). Still needs some work on the honing, this thing is a complete wedge.

Last up is my first razor, a Henckels Friodur with my new lather bowl

I have been at the honing, all the shiny areas are from the hone. I think I might end up trying to tape it after all though, it will make things a lot easier. I can't quite tell, but it looks like your blade has some hollow to it, looks like there's some old wear on the spine and at the bevel but not in between. If it lays flat, you can just go at it, or you can tape the spine to protect it. What's tough is the frown area that is sometimes near the shoulder area on the old ones.
