Thanked: 79New Kamisori by Brian Brown
Here is the latest addition to the collection, my first Kamisori:
Made by Brian Brown, whose work I first saw on this forum.
Picked up the box this morning, couldn't wait to get home, strop, and shave with the new blade. For the first time with a Kamisori, it went very well! The blade was definitely shave-ready, but it was obvious that it requires some adjustments to my shaving technique. Regardless, I got a good shave out of the box, and it's definitely a keeper!
Brian, if you see this: Great work, and thank you very much!

Thanked: 41Very nice! I, too, have an order in with Brian. But for a western-grind fixed blade.

If It were possible, all of my razors would be kamisori grind... that blade is one of my all time favorites. Beautiful.

Beautiful razor.
Where can I find the works of Brian Brown?
Is there a website?

A Razors Tale
I bought a kamisori from one of BB's previous batches and just love it! I'm also on the books for a folder sometime mid-year.

Thanked: 0I received my kamisori from Brian yesterday. Awesome work. It's just like the one on this page, minus the cord on the handle.

Thanked: 79Hard, no - different, yes! Heavier for one thing (I do like the heft of it!), different optimum angle to hold. I'm used to switching hands and blade-sides - BIG difference for me to use one hand, one side.
One thing Brian suggested is to make the lather a bit wetter than one is used to, so I'm trying that... In spite of the differences, I got a good face shave right out of the box! Tomorrow, we try the head ...
