Thread: Can anyone help me identify my new razor please?

I bought this as a gift for my best man for my wedding in a few weeks. He has a penchant for straight razors and I know that he likes Japanese art so I thought this would be a nice cross-over for him. I would like to be able to give him some information on it at the same time. Unfortunately the seller didn't know much about it. I know it's nothing spectacular but I was hoping someone on here could assist with identifying or dating it.

If anyone even knows another site where I might be able to get some help (maybe a site specializing in Japanese straight razors?) I would really appreciate it. I don't know much about the subject and it seems there is an awful lot to know. Thanks again for looking.

Hey, post that up in the Japanese 'international' forum at the bottom of the forum links, maybe someone from Japan could help you decipher the inscriptions and get some info from that!
