They're not usually shave ready from the manufacturing plant. Don't be surprised if you need to have it honed. Great find, even if it's not shave ready though!

At £25 it might not be shave ready but getting it honed might cost another £10 is still worth it. I would gladly pay £35 for a shave ready Dovo.

+1 on Cove5440's advice. I would get it honed before shaving with it.

And congratulations on your purchase. The Dovo "Special" is one of their best-looking and best-selling razors.

Sorry if I gave the wrong impression. I think that's a great deal, like you said, even if it needs to be honed. Just a warning to the OP as it sounded like he was just going to strop it and try it. There's nothing wrong if it needs honed, but may not be comfortable to shave with yet.

I think I gave the wrong impression too. My post was agreeing with yours. I would also think that it would need honing since he person he got it from didn't know much about it and like you said, I don't think Dovo ships them shave-ready. I think that since he got such a sweet deal any extra money he might have to spend on it still keeps him in the black.

    Default Tennis Solingen

I have a question for everyone. I bought a vintage razor today and I can not find any information on it. It is a yellowish-creme colored handle. The blade has Jackarbeit on it it and on the base of the blade it says "Tennis Solingen" with and 80 on it. It also has tennis rackets on it. Any information would help. Thanks.
