Default My first wet shaving kit has arrived!

So my first safetyrazor arrived yesterday along with some other stuff I ordered. Had my first DE shave the very same day resulting in some minor cuts and bleeding
The experience was excellent though and Im already looking forward to my next shave (that`s a first). Probably should give it a couple of days though to let my face heal a bit....
I took some quick pics, not the best since my flash was out of battery, but thought I`d share nevertheless.

Welcome to the club! I also had a rough going at first, but the learning curve will go by fast. After converting to classic wet-shaving from the ol' cartridge and electric shavers, I can't imagine doing it any other way. I look forward to my morning shave every day like a child looks forward to dessert after supper. ;-)

    Cheers!

Ditto...That's a really nice Edwin Jagger De razor; and the T & H shaving soap is highly respected in wet shaving circles.

Excellent photos there, they look like they out of a sales broacher.

I started with a DE before I moved on to straights and reflecting back on this I can tell you with all honesty I used to cut myself up more with the DE than I ever have with a straight.

I think as the razors that hold the DE blades are relatively heavy and gave little feedback to me and used to slice over every skin imperfection.

But it is a lovely looking razor!

    Thank you guys!
I`m on my third shave with this razor as of yesterday and this time there were no bleeding
Like you say, the razor is really heavy wich takes a little getting used to when coming from a gilette contour plus, but man I`m enjoying every bit of it! Except the cuts and bleeding of course....
Shaving has gone from a chore to something I really look forward to now, and it feels so much more manly doing it like this too!
I just wish I`d thought of this sooner you know
Better late than never I guess.

Well that`s good to hear. I read up a little on T&H and I figured that someone that`s been in the business for so long gotta know what they are doing, but truth be told the beautiful wooden case was the thing that won me over
I`m looking forward to trying some other soaps though, I was thinking maybe something from Crabtree & Evelyn? They got nice wooden boxes too!
