Default Newbie's beginner collection... Razors made shave ready.

So after about a month and approximately $375 invested in razors (could have gotten a 7 day set in retrospect). But I do have a nice collection started and about 8 more that need some work done to the blades. So anyway, here are the ones I have shaved with and are up to shaving standard.
From Left to right top to bottom.

    TOP: Torrey - USA; R&M N.Y. - USA; Robeson 34-D-300 - USA; Perry and Sons - Sheffield; Dovo - Solingen; J.A. Henckels - Solingen

Bottom: Blue Steel Razor Co. - Germany; Morley Clover Brand - Germany; Simmons Barber's Pet - Germany; Simmons Royal Keen Kutter - Germany; Gebruder Christians - Solingen; Richards and Conover Kansas City - USA

I have two other Torrey's, a Sheffield, a Genco, and a Double Duck that I still need to Hone and Sharpen.

awesome to see a newbie going for the vintage straights rather than the overpriced dovo's and others....not saying they arnt great shavers and pieces of work but I would just much rather a vintage nice collection

Thanks all, I have just had a lot of fun collecting and shaving. Each one shaves so differently from the next. there are a couple that are my favorites, and I thought a blade is just a blade, but you really can't go by that premise.

I had the hardest time with the Morley blade, but I have been working hard on it trying to get it up to shaving speed, I wasn't seeming to get it sharp at all, but it just took a lot of dedication on my hones and now it is one of my better shavers. Didn't realize that a wedge type took so much more time-- 3 hours spent trying to get it sharp on my naturals, it didn't even have any chips in it, got some small chips out of the Henckels in less than 1 hour.

Hopefully I will have the others ready sooner rather than later. I can't wait to shave with the new ones, but I really want to keep shaving with all the others too... What a bitter-sweet dilemma.

Very, very nice collection! I'm trying not to end up like you for my wallet's sake but it doesn't seem to be working

Which ones are your favourites of the bunch?

    Default Favorites - -

My favorites "overall shavers" that give me a CCS so far, are, the Simmons Hardware Co. "Barbers Pet;" the Gebruder Christians; and the Henckels. They just give an amazing easy shave, overall. The best one on WTG passes is actually the Petty and Sons from Sheffield, but it's really tough on my neck where the grain changes constantly, can't seem to get the right angle, got a little burn on my lower right side of my neck yesterday from it. XTG and ATG goes to the Richards and Conover from the US - - Wierd, it doesn't seem to cut well on a WTG pass (leaves random standing hairs), but cuts easily through across and against(I really don't get it, I just don't have enough practice with the Wedge type I think). The rest shave well, but just don't feel as good in my hand. I really love the double jimping, as well, on the razors that have it. Makes for a nice easy grip.

Now this is all subject to change, I haven't had enough time with all of them yet. I need to take them out some more as many of them I have only shaved with once. I will continue to use them and as time goes by I will give some updates, at least I hope to, I am terribly unreliable when I say I "will" do something...
