Default My Humble Museum of Stuff

    Gentlemen,
Through the years, I have come across traditional shaving paraphernalia and, for a lack of a better space, put them on top of the bookcase in my study. It's my little museum of stuff. It makes me feel good. Enjoy.

Nice Obie, I see some tobacco jars up there too. I've got a few of those too. I ought to do a little display like that in my domicile. Brightens up the place.

Nice work, Obie! No dust as in mine! Mind if others chime in with theirs?

Speaking of tobacco jars, Jimmy, do you see that big pipe in the photos? That was made by a Montagnard artisan in Vietnam. The Montagnards are the indigenous people of the Central Highlands of Vietnam. They were named Montagnard (Mountain People) by the French. I was in the Central Highlands with the 4th Infantry Division.

I traded a case of beer for that big pipe, and a smaller one. The bit is made of an M16 shell casing. The stem is bamboo. One of the two bands at the joint is probably from a beer can. The other is a shall casing from a 50-caliber machine gun. I don't know what wood is used for the bowl. I have never smoked it. I can't see smoking a fancy English blend in that pipe. I think it was meant more for funny tobacco.

Hello pixelfixed, my friend. No, no dust. I think I need to organize that bookcase, though. One of these days, perhaps.
    Stay well.
