Antique store find ;D
Hey yall, here goes another generic antique store find thread lol.. I went to an antique store today on my way to the beach. At first I had my eyes on a few straights but they were grossly over priced. They wanted $98 for a crown & sword with the peacock celluloid scales. and $85 each for some other generic 5/8 german razors from the early 20th century. As much as I wanted to get them the lady insisted that they were in mint condition (they were not) and that they are nearly imposible to find (I've seen plenty).. sad day.. but wait!! As I was blinded by my Straight Razor Acquisition Disorder I almost missed out on a G1 Fatboy that was on the shelf above! G1 is what I believe to be a 1st quarter 1961 Fatboy.. It looked like it was used but not abused! It had what seemed to be dried out shaving soap or glycerin so I went to town on it with Bluemagic, a rag, some q-tips, and some toothpicks. It isnt perfect but I got a good sheen.. not bad for less than $24 ;D

Thanked: 4249Yep they are always rare and in great condition for their ages, i did buy a few straights in antique store, and always find their asking price to be ridiculous, i make a low ball offer and walk away, it worked a few times!!!
