    I can't take credit for the idea. There are many sites with various blacksmithing tips and tricks that I borrowed from. As for location, I only had it outside for the photo; it plans to live in my garage. If it was outside permanently, I'd worry about rusting the anvil (or someone stealing it!). Here's an indoor photo that shows the other side (four slots vs. three on the back).
