    Default Estate Sale Find

I never see straight razors in the wild, but today I got lucky at an estate sale. This Union Cutlery straight set me back $2.50. I’m quite confident that it will clean up nicely. I also scored a working scroll saw for a few bucks. This particular model also has a small sanding disc on the side. Lastly, I bought a grab bag of miscellaneous hardware and parts. When I got the lot home I noticed a small box of star washers. They have rectangular holes instead of round ones, but they are roughly the same thickness and diameter as most vintage bearing washers. I might experiment to see if they can be repurposed into workable thrust washers. Anyhow, a successful outing today.

For $2.50 that is a great buy. Post some pictures after you clean it up.

That should be a great razor. I have two Union Cutlery razors and I love the hell out of them! The steel is just fantastic in them.
