    Default Antique store toggle

Found this in an antique store marked at $4. I guess the all-metal Stahly was more ($5) because the scrap value is higher.

I have one that I use often. And it does give the best shave of any of the Gillette adjustables that I have. On this one you might consider having it replated, working and looking well, it's a keeper!

Yes, that one is a keeper. It is quite a find and probably worth fixing it up.

They are a relatively heavy DE which makes for a good shave IME. If the adjustment ring is working you have a good shaver there. After cleaning an overnight soak in mineral oil might be a good thing. That is what I did when I collected vintage DE TTOs.

Yes, so far as I can tell, it works. When I twist the ring it produces nice clicks, and the space in the head changes slightly.

I'm not sure how the toggle is supposed to work. When I flip the toggle, I then have to push it up slightly to make the silo doors click open. Is it supposed to be spring loaded?

It is probably gunked up. If you soak it in hot water with a little dish soap, then do the mineral oil it may improve the working of the mechanism.
