    Default Newbies New Aquisitions

Ive been shaving with a straight for about six months and I have finally succumbed to RAD. In the space of several weeks I have made two big purchases. The first was a 7 day set that I plan to restore over the next few months. Apologies for the pics I had to use my phone.

Five of the razors were from the original set and they are all in really good shape. They dont look like they have ever been honed and were well oiled and rust free. They are Haddon Brand razors manufactured by W.R. Humphreys & Co. Sheffield.

The other two razors are one of those Souvenirs of Frankfurt razors in mint condition . The other is a bit of a puzzler. It has Puma scales but the blade is a Diamond Edge manufactured by a firm called Langenohl & Haas, Solingen. This one will need some TLC.

The set cost me 150 euro which I thought was pretty good given the excellent condition the razors.

My other acquisition was a near mint blond buffalo horn scaled Dovo along with a ridiculously large badger brush and fairly generic strop. I almost felt bad for the guy I got this off given how ridiculously cheap it was. I got the whole lot for 50 quid!

The blade has a couple of water spots but was virtually shave ready, it was good to go after a quick going over with a pasted strop. The brush is a (very) large super badger made for a local barbers by Simpsons.

How large is it I hear you say? Well I took a shot next to the brush I got off whipped dog for comparison.

I think for my first few purchases I did pretty well. Now I just cant wait until I can afford a set of stones and I can get to work on the 7 day set!

Congrats, those are some sweet looking razors
I look forward to seeing the pictures once you have shined them up as best as you can.

Maybe I'll find a 7 day set, before I die.
    Like that brush.
    Thanks for sharing yours.
