    Default My First Straight Razor

This is my first, and currently only straight razor. This was my great great grandfather's razor from what I am told. It is a Geo. Wostenholm & Son razor that I cleaned up to use. Nothing major done to it except removing the rust it had. I can't do anything about the pitting, but I am not worried about it. I sharpened the blade and started using it, and it works great. It didn't have any nicks in the blade, so sharpening was fairly simple. I have been trying to figure out what the handle is made of and the possible time the razor was made, but I haven't turned up anything. Here's a couple pictures of it. Nothing special, but it still serves its purpose even after many years.

    Somehow the box survived too.
