Thanked: 2ANyone had any dealings with KAM razors?
I found this little fella in a local tool/hardware shop. It had been gathering dust on a shelf for about 8 years according to the owner, and it cost me a whopping great £11.20! It still had the light oil coating on and as you can see is pristine. The edge was a bit dull but I will hopefully get a keen edge on over a few nights this week.
I'm hoping it will be an improvement on my Timor Blue Steel cheapie razor which is my only sharp blade at the moment. I actually found the blade because I have asked the guy to order me some waterstones to hone with, and when he asked about the usage, he showed me the razor.
He also tells me that he knows a guy who used to make strops for the Gilete factories, and he's going to see if he is still making. I'll keep you posted!

Never heard of KAM, but it is a nice looking razor! And for that price it can't hurt to try it out. If you would be so kind as to photo the progress, that would be a learning experience for the rest of us..... You might have the next "prized razor".

Thanked: 0KAM razors - made in West Germany (before the wall fell). I have one that was purchased in the '80's. Good blade, but a little broad for my day-to-day shaves. The last one I saw for sale was in the 200 euro amount. The original cases are bright blue plastic with white writing.
