A Pyrate's First Blade
Well I just got a knock on the door and signed off on a very alluring box. Let's just say I am setting up my station as we speak. I am figuring out where to put my strop and I have to wait for the next package for my chromium oxide and my 4000/8000 block. Looking at it now I might need a stand for the razor and brush. Right now I am contemplating a go at shaving but not sure if I should hone it first.
Equipment:
- Hart 6/8'" Square Edge with Rosewood Scales by JA
- Hart Shaving Mug with Brush Rest
- Classic Brand Bay Rum Soap
- Thiers Issard 23mm Super Badger Horn Shaving Brushes

I've never used one, but I have heard that they come shave ready. I would definitely try shaving with it before honing it.

You do not need to hone it. Hart's come shave ready. I have one just like yours.
Good luck!- Jeremy -

I was advised to buy a cheapo blade to practice honing with. For $10 on ebay I picked this up for practice.
